このレストランは、通りから奥まった段差のある旗竿敷地内にひっそりと建つ。建築のモニュメント性を消し、メインダイニングは真っ白な何もない空間とし、その周りにいくつかの庭、キッチン、ワインルーム、色の塗られた壁、アート、本棚、食料倉庫、秘密の部屋など多様な空間を配し、間接的にメインダイニングを彩るような空間構成とした。”周りのもの”が、レストランを訪れるゲストの”今いる場所のその先”への想像を助けることを目指した。それは料理を食べる時に、素材が生まれた畑や海のことを感じて欲しいという、シェフであるクライアントとの対話から発想を得ている。建築がいかにして人の想像力を補完するかというチャレンジであった。

The restaurant was created by minimal white boxes with several windows to connect both outside and inside. Instead of design architecture as a monument, we tried to keep main dinning as pure void and create various things like garden, painted wall, Art, wine room, waiting room, book shelf, kitchen, food storage, flowers and secret room around the main dining. They could increase the value of space and let guests imagine the “behind” where they are. Imagination of the “behind” might be also felt such as “soil” when they eat vegetables, “sea” when they eat fish and “farm” when they eat meat.
